1/4cupchocolate chipsto be added after granola has been baked
3-4Tbsphoney OR pure maple syrup
3applesblended in a high speed blender to form a liquid
3Tbsphoney OR pure maple syrup
1Tbspnut butter of choice
OPTIONAL:1/4 cup raisons
*optional chopped apple to be added in in the last 5 mins of baking granola so it doesn't burn
Preheat the oven to 140 degrees Celsius.
You may want to heat the nut butter and honey/maple syrup (if the recipe calls for it) on the stove top in a small saucepan over a medium heat until it starts to bubble. Take off heat and pour into the rest of the recipe.
Mix dry ingredients with wet ingredients in a large mixing bowl (leaving out chocolate chips if using).
Spread the granola mixture evenly on a lined oven tray. Bake for roughly 12-15 mins until edges start to brown. Take out oven and mix granola with a spoon. Place back into oven and bake until golden brown and toasted.
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. Once cooled, break into granola clusters OR crumble and stir in chocolate chips
*Store in an airtight container to preserve freshness
**Take note to watch the granola as it burns very quickly.
