One of my favourite meals to have is a nice BIG salad where I can throw in every veggie and it honestly just tastes so good! The key to enjoying your salads, is to have a delicious salad dressing! When it comes to salad dressings, I prefer low fat varieties not because I fear fat, but because I prefer to eat my fats (including nuts, avocado etc) because I just find it that much more satisfying!
6 Salad Dressing Recipes
Creamy Garlic Yoghurt
This one is so perfect for when I’m looking for a creamy salad dressing, that has a little zing to it!
For the whole recipe: 39 calories P:2g C:5g F:1.7g
Ingredients:
3 tbsp low fat plain yoghurt
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp almond milk
1/2 tsp fresh garlic
pinch of salt
Method: Place all ingredients in a blender and combine until smooth. You could also just mix it well using a spoon if you don’t have time to blend it up!
Sweet Sesame Dressing
By far one of my favourite salad dressings that is honestly SO quick and easy to make! This is perfect for if you’re looking for something sweet with a little zing!
For the whole recipe: 18 calories P:0.3g C:0.8g F:0.7g
Ingredients:
3 tbsp sushi vinegar
1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds
Method: Mix all ingredients and enjoy!
Creamy Peanut Butter Dressing
Growing up, my dad would make this dressing for me ALL the time! He would put it on noodles, cucumber salads and everything you could think of. This is honestly one of my go-to salad dressing recipes!
For the whole recipe: 32 calories P: 1.2g C: 1.2g F: 2.8g
Ingredients:
1 tsp peanut butter
1 tbsp hot water
(optional): 1 tsp sushi vinegar
Method: Mix all ingredients and enjoy!
Soy Coriander Dressing
This is delicious as a salad dressing, or even as a noodle topper!
For the whole recipe: 43 calories P: 0.7g C: 13g F: 0.2g
Ingredients:
Juice of 1-2 limes
1 tsp honey
1/2 tsp soya sauce
1 tsp finely chopped fresh coriander
Salt & pepper
Method: Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender and enjoy!
Creamy Hummus Dressing
This one is especially good in falafel salads, or even just to give your salad that creamy feel without the dairy! Another one of my favourite salad dressing recipes.
For the whole recipe: 53 calories P: 2.4g C: 5.3g F: 2.9g
Ingredients
2 tbsp hummus
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt & pepper to taste
