Yes, I have finally given in! A lot of you readers have sent me countless messages and emails requesting that I post my savoury recipes on the blog, and well, I couldn’t put it off any longer!
So, to kickstart this new chapter, I made something extra special. Pizza is something that is so close to my heart, and will forever be a firm favourite food of mine. There is just something about biting into a cheesy pizza that gets me every time!

Cauliflower pizza crust recipe
There is just something about a good pizza base. Every Friday Mik & I always get this delicious pizza from our local Italian restraint and devour it. It took me years and years to try understand what was so good about this pizza. Every time we have it, it doesn’t fail to surprise us with its delicious base, melty cheese and tangy pomodoro sauce.
One Friday, I went to collect our usual order, got home and realised that they had given us the wrong order. Instead of our usual, cheesy, topping laden pizza. They gave us a plain focaccia, with no cheese or sauce! I was extremely disappointed and didn’t have time to go and swap back the order. Mik and I were left having to eat the focaccia! I am so grateful that we did because this is whereI had a lightbulb moment! It was the pizza base that made the pizza so darn delicious.
That is what inspired me to make a absolutely delicious pizza base, that tasted good on its own even without the toppings! This cauliflower pizza crust recipe is the perfect base recipe of your dreams. Far healthier than the version mentioned above, I highly recommend giving it a try!
Can I use broccoli?
Why does cauliflower get all the love? This recipe works so well with cauliflower or broccoli! I personally use cauliflower when I am making it for skeptics, because often the green colour from the broccoli is just too much for them to overcome ( my health nut taste testers get extra excited when they see the green!)
Secret to a crispy base
To get the base extra crispy, I recommend draining all excess liquid using a cheese cloth ( or even a normal cloth!) This step is not essential, but i highly recommend if you’re someone who prefers your base on the crispier side!
